As a 2021-22 Ted Scripps Fellow in Environmental Journalism, I carried out an independent study on crime, corruption and climate change. The study examined the scope and nature of environmental crime, efforts to measure its impact, international attempts to combat the problem and the role of investigative journalism in creating accountability. The materials focused primarily on illegal deforestation but also included the fossil fuel industry.
